Abstract: Bovine lactoferricin(LfcinB) is a natural antimicrobial peptide produced by the hydrolysis of bovine lactoferrin. It has been proven to have antibacterial, anti-tumor and anti-viral effects. Drosophila melanogaster has recently emerged as an ideal model for studying tumor-induced host depletion. In this study, $ yki^{3SA} $ (human YAP1 homolog) was overexpressed in the gut of the classic Drosophila melanogaster model to induce the overproliferation of intestinal stem cells to construct an intestinal malignant tumor model, and the effect of LfcinB on malignant tumors was investigated. It is found that LfcinB can significantly prolong the life span of the $ yki^{3SA} $-induced intestinal tumor Drosophila melanogaster model. It can also improve abdominal swelling, abnormal intestinal morphology and intestinal permeability injury caused by tumors. Taken together, this work demonstrates the potential application and guiding significance of LfcinB in the prevention and treatment of tumors.
