Abstract: Tomato(Solanum lycopersicum) has high nutritional value and is popular among consumers. Currently, tomato has become one of the widely grown cash crops. The BLISTER(BLI) protein is a regulator of many stress responses, which promotes plant adaptation to the environment and plays an important role in regulating plant maturation. In this paper, the SlBLI2(Solyc12g097070.3) gene of tomato was used to analyze the sequence characteristics of the BLI family genes. By finding the specific region silencing sequence of the SlBLI2 gene, a tomato SlBLI2 virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS) vector was successfully constructed using homologous recombination technology. The tomato fruits were injected with different bacteria using gene silencing assay, and SlBLI2 was found to have a function in inhibiting fruit ripening, providing a reference for further investigation into the role of the tomato SlBLI2 gene in fruit ripening.
